「なぜ絵を描くのか」

誰にも褒められることもなく、

来る日も来る日も絵を描き続けている。

それで良いのだ。

私が私をわかっていれば良い。

一体何のために描くのかと言われれば、

それは自己を掘り下げるためでもあり、

見た人を満足させるためでもあり、

自己の世界認識を形に残したいからだ。

そして、何より、描いてて楽しいからだ。

そこに紙と筆があるのから描くのである。

登山する者になぜ山に登るかと聞いたら、「そこに山があるからだ。」と答えるのと同じである。

作品は命であり、自分の生き写しだ。

この中に自分の生きた証が詰まっているのである。

Without being praised by anyone,

I continue to draw pictures day after day.

That's good.

I just need to know me.

When asked what the purpose is to draw,

It's also to dig me down,

Also to satisfy the viewer,

This is because I want to leave my world perception in shape.

And above all, it's fun to draw.

There is a paper and a brush there, so I draw.

Asking a climber why he or she wants to climb a mountain is the same as answering, "There is a mountain there."

The work is a life and a copy of myself.

The proof of my living is packed in this.
