「湯河原旅行」
二泊三日で湯河原に絵を描きに行った。
絵描き仲間の友人の別荘に行ったのである。
温泉で有名な町だが、温泉は嫌いなので入らず、奥湯河原へと続く川沿いの風景を楽しんできた。
千歳川を左手に緩い坂を延々と歩いて登っていく。
そうすると奥湯河原に着くのだが、途中、温泉施設「泉の湯」の前でバテてしまったので、バスに乗って終点まで行った。
古い味のある旅館や高級旅館が立ち並び、風光明媚な河原風景がバスから広がる。
湯けむりが立ち上がる幽玄な川の眺めは最高だった。
来て良かったと思った。
帰りはUターンして登って来た坂を今度は下っていく。
五段の滝、不動滝、達磨滝と、滝を眺めて楽しんだ。
不動滝では、「不動茶屋」という休み所でお汁粉と自家製梅ジュースを味わい、店の主人が作る竹灯籠をお土産に買った。
不動滝のたもとには、歓迎するように虹がかかっていた。
スケッチ用にスマホで写真をたくさん撮った。
スケッチは、その場で臨場感を味わった後、画像を見て思い出しながら描くスタイルである。
また、帰りには「町立湯河原美術館」に行った。
平山礼二という地元の作家の特集がされていた。
日本画家の人で、花で構成した富士を描いている。
お土産に、黄色い表紙に銀の線でウサギが描かれた、湯河原オリジナルスケッチブックを買った。
さてこれには、何を描こうか。
そしてまたバスに乗り、別荘まで帰った。
帰ったらスケッチ制作のスタートだ。
一心不乱に絵を描いた。
そして夕食は、「剣鮨」。
真っ暗な田舎の夜道を歩いて、寿司屋に向かった。
そして友人の予約した上寿司を、ビールで乾杯して食べた。
壁には様々なオブジェが飾られる中、店の女主人が作る押絵が飾られていた。
たまたま来ていた壮年カップルとも話し、絵を描いていることを自己紹介し、絵をプリントしたスマホケースを見せて盛り上がった。
二日目は、別荘隣の定食屋「はまなす」で食事をして、女主人に自己紹介した。
私は以前この友人のために、友人の描いた大作100号のひまわりの絵でスマホカバーを作ってあげたのだが、それがそのお店で好評で、お店で売りたいという話だったからだ。
それはそうと、ここで食べた鮭かます定食が美味しくて舌鼓を打った。
あとここでは、友人の描いた４号のガラス絵を飾ってくれている。
花の絵である。
友人は花が好きで、花を大胆に描く。
女主人と少し商談をし、駅前にある「五月みどりの雑貨店」に営業に行ったらどうだというので、向かったのだった。
着いて名刺を渡そうとしたが、作家の引き入れはやっていないというので雑貨をあれこれ見ただけで店を後にした。
その後、「人間国宝美術館」へと向かった。
常設展ではピカソや向井潤吉など様々な有名人の名画が飾られていて、企画展では人間国宝の作る人形や美人画を堪能して来た。
そして元首相で湯河原で活動する陶芸家・細川護熙氏の作品を鑑賞して来た。
帰りには抹茶が飲めるサービスがあり、なんと人間国宝の作った時価数千万円の茶碗で飲めるのである。
そこで人間国宝ではないが、細川さんの茶碗で一杯飲んで来た。
味わい深い少しいびつな形で、深緑の渋い色合いをしている。
ゴツゴツした表面の肌触りは暖かで、繊細で大胆。
ああ、天下を取った男の作った茶碗はこれなんだ、最高じゃないかと感激して、美術館を後にした。
実はこの時、左脇腹が痛くなり、タクシーを呼んで別荘に帰った。
脇腹痛でこのまま東京に帰るのも大変になってしまったので、一泊二日の予定だったが、もう一泊させてもらうことになった。
そしてまた、絵を描いた。
今度は四川ラーメンが有名な「たんぽぽ」で夕食を食べた。
ここにも友人の絵がポストカードサイズだが飾られているのである。
これも大胆な花の絵だ。
中ジョッキを飲みながら、餃子、だし巻き卵、モツ炒め、四川ラーメンを食べ、締めに生卵とご飯のセットを食べた。
三日目の朝、七時半に別荘を後にした。
こうして二泊三日の旅を終え、そのまま私は、黄金町のアトリエまで制作に向かったのである。
湯河原は風景がよく、食事も美味しくて、素晴らしい町だった。
絵を描くにはもってこいの場所だ。
少し日常に疲れたら、また行くとしよう。
"Yugawara trip"
I went to Yugawara to draw a picture in two nights and three days.
I went to the villa of my friend who was a painter.
The town is famous for hot springs, but I don't like hot springs, so I didn't take a bath and enjoyed the scenery along the river leading to Okuyugawara.
I walked up the gentle slope endlessly with the Chitose River on my left.
Then I arrived at Okuyugawara, but on the way, I got sick in front of the hot spring facility "Izuminoyu", so I took a bus to the end point.
Old-fashioned inns and luxury inns line up, and the scenic riverside scenery spreads from the bus.
The view of the mysterious river where the steam rises was the best.
I'm glad I came.
On the way back, I made a U-turn and went down the slope that I had climbed.
I enjoyed watching the five-tiered waterfall, Fudo waterfall, and Daruma waterfall.
At Fudo Falls, I tasted soup powder and homemade plum juice at a resting place called "Fudo Chaya" and bought a bamboo lantern made by the owner as a souvenir.
At the foot of Fudo Fall, there was a rainbow to welcome us.
I took a lot of pictures with my smartphone for sketching.
Sketching is a style of drawing while looking at an image and remembering it after experiencing the presence on the spot.
On the way back, I went to the "Municipal Yugawara Museum".
There was a special feature on a local artist named Reiji Hirayama.
A Japanese-style painter who draws Mt. Fuji composed of flowers.
As a souvenir, I bought a Yugawara original sketchbook with a rabbit drawn on a yellow cover with a silver line.
What should I draw for this?
Then I got on the bus again and returned to the villa.
When I get home, I'll start making sketches.
I drew a picture with all my heart.
And dinner is "Kenzushi".
I walked along the pitch-black country night road to a sushi restaurant.
And I toasted the top sushi reserved by my friend with beer and ate it.
While various objects were displayed on the wall, Japanese stamps made by the owner of the store were displayed.
I talked with a middle-aged couple who happened to come, introduced myself that I was drawing a picture, and showed a smartphone case with a picture printed on it.
On the second day, I ate at the set meal restaurant "Hamanasu" next to the villa and introduced myself to the owner of the restaurant.
I used to make a smartphone cover for this friend with a picture of a sunflower of the 100th masterpiece drawn by a friend, but it was popular at that store and I wanted to sell it at the store.
That being said, the salmon sphyraenidae set meal I ate here was delicious and I was impressed.
Also here, he is decorating the glass painting of No. 4 drawn by a friend.
It is a picture of a flower.
My friend likes flowers and draws them boldly.
I had a little business talk with the owner of the store and asked if I should go to the "Midori Satsuki General Store" in front of the station, so I headed for it.
I arrived and tried to hand over my business card, but I heard that the store did not attract writers, so I left the store just by looking at miscellaneous goods.
After that, I headed to the "Ningenkokuho Museum".
In the permanent exhibition, masterpieces of various celebrities such as Picasso and Junkichi Mukai are displayed, and in the special exhibition, I have enjoyed the dolls and beautiful women's paintings made by Living National Treasure.
And I have been watching the work of Mr. Morihiro Hosokawa, a former prime minister and a potter who is active in Yugawara.
There is a service where you can drink matcha on your way home, and you can drink it in a bowl made by Living National Treasure for tens of millions of yen.
So, although it is not a Living National Treasure, I drank a cup with Mr. Hosokawa's bowl.
It has a slightly distorted shape with a deep taste and a bitter shade of dark green.
The rugged surface is warm, delicate and bold.
"Oh, this is the bowl made by the man who took the world, isn't it the best?" And left the museum.
Actually, at this time, I had a pain in my left flank, so I called a taxi and went back to the villa.
I had a stomachache and it was difficult for me to go back to Tokyo, so I was planning to stay for one night and two days, but I got permission from a friend and decided to stay for another night.
And again, I drew a picture.
This time, I had dinner at "Tanpopo", which is famous for Sichuan ramen.
A picture of a friend is also displayed here, though it is a postcard size.
This is also a bold flower painting.
While drinking a medium beer mug, I ate dumplings, omelet rolls, stir-fried offal, Sichuan ramen, and finally a set of raw eggs and rice.
On the morning of the third day, I left the villa at 7:30.
After finishing the two-night, three-day trip, I went straight to the studio in Koganecho.
Yugawara was a wonderful city with good scenery and delicious food.
It's a great place to draw a picture.
If I get a little tired of everyday life, I'll go again.
