「口は災いの元」
どっかで喋ったあの言葉が、変に伝わって、違う意味に化ける。
そういった事で身を滅ぼすパターンがある。
良いと思って自分の言ったことが、言葉の仲介者を通して悪い意味で伝わり、評判を落としてしまうケースが世の中には多々あるのだ。
私もそういう目に何度か遭っている。
これが「口は災いの元」と言われる所以である。
もちろん悪意があって、言ってしまう者には、災いは当然降りかかる。
そうでなくて、善意で言った意味が災いの種になることだってあるということだ。
だからいつでも、自分の放つ言葉には最大の注意を払っていなくてはいけない。
いつも言葉に気をつけていれば、仮に、変に話が伝わって災いが起きそうになっても、直接話した人間に問いただせば、自分は間違っていないと証明できるからである。

That word spoken somewhere is transmitted strangely and turns into a different meaning.
There is a pattern that destroys oneself by such a thing.
There are many cases in the world where what you say is good and is conveyed in a bad way through a language mediator, damaging your reputation.
I have also encountered this kind of thing several times.
This is the reason why the mouth is said to be the source of disaster.
Of course, for those who are malicious and say it, disaster will naturally fall.
Instead, it means that what you say in good faith can be a source of disaster.
So you always have to pay the utmost attention to what you say.
If you always pay attention to the words, even if the story is strangely transmitted and a disaster is about to occur, you can prove that you are not wrong by asking the person who spoke directly.
