「基本とオリジナル」
世界にたった一つのオリジナル。
そういうものには、世界最高の価値があり、誰もが憧れる。
だが、オリジナルを目指しても、別に最初はオリジナルじゃなくたっていい。
むしろ基本をこなした上で、オリジナルを作った方が断然良いのだ。
玄人の技を観察し、見よう見まねでどんどん取り入れていこう。
基本は1番大事である。
ある程度習熟し、一定の技術が身に付いたら、自分だけのオリジナルを生み出せば良いのだ。
絵の世界の話になるが、私の教室の後輩で筆を持ったことのない初心者の女性生徒が、いきなり思いつきで筆の柄の後ろで描こうとしたことがあった。
私がその人に、まず穂先で描いてみるよう何度も指導しても、一向に言うことを聞かなかった。
結局それは、筆の穂先で描くのが苦手で、それから逃げようとした発想の結果だったと思う。
そして、その日の教室では、見事に下手くそな、板にも棒にもつかないような絵を柄の後ろで描きおわり、自己満足していたのである。
その後、彼女はやっぱり筆から逃げようとして、爪楊枝の先で描いたり、マジックで描いているだけで、いまだにオリジナル手法の絵描きだと自称している。
彼女は、そうやって下手なまま下手さを続け、結局それから何年も経った今でも筆の穂先でしっかり描けない人になってしまったばかりか、筆の柄の後ろでさえも大して描けない人になってしまったのである。
そうやって、その時ばかりの一発屋になったって仕方ないじゃないか。
その人はそれが自分だけのオリジナルだと考えたわけだろうが、とんでもない。
そんなこと大抵の人が既に考えていて、もう何百人、何千人と試しているはずだ。
筆が筆たろう素質とはやはり穂先にある。
穂先で描いて習熟した結果、柄の後ろでいくのは全然アリだが、いきなりやったってパフォーマンスで終わるだけである。
オリジナルがどんなに優れていても、基本をまずこなすことが、やはり何より大事なのである。

As for the world of painting, a junior female student in my classroom who had never had a brush suddenly tried to draw behind the pattern of the brush.
No matter how many times I instructed the person to try drawing with the tip of the ear, she never heard.
After all, I think it was the result of her idea that she wasn't good at drawing with the tip of her brush and then tried to escape.
And in her classroom that day, she was complacent, drawing a picture behind the handle that wouldn't even stick to a bad board or stick.
After that, she tried to escape from the brush, just drawing with the tip of a toothpick or drawing with magic, and she still claims to be an original painter.
She continued to be poor in that way, and many years later she became a person who couldn't draw well with the tip of the brush, and even behind the handle of the brush.
That way, it can't be helped to become a one-hit wonder only at that time.
The person would have thought it was her own original, but it's ridiculous.
Most people are already thinking about that and should have tried it with hundreds or thousands of people.
The qualities that a brush is a brush are still at the tip of the ear.
As a result of drawing with the tip of the ear and becoming proficient, it is okay to go behind the pattern, but suddenly it just ends with a performance.
No matter how good the original is, it's still important to do the basics first.
